Overview
SYNERGY is an interactive sculpture commisioned by the DC Department of General services for the newly remodeled Bancroft Elementary School in Washington DC. The 18 foot long aluminum sculpture explores the visual effects of color and geometry while creating a bright and engaging focal point for the school's courtyard.
Goals
Our main goal for this project was to design an interactive, free-standing sculpture that would complement the style of the new building while adding a bright focal point to the courtyard. The artwork’s organic and fluid design is composed of aluminum rings of different sizes that are welded to one another.
Timelessness is very important to us and our goal for this project is to design a sculpture that
would be as relevant and compelling 50 years from now as it is today.
