Client: Riverside Hospital

Overview

Creating a signature piece for outside of the new maternity wing. Must be permanent in nature, able to endure daily traffic, give hope to the residents and patients of the hospital and be designed to scale in a harmonious relationship to the main building and awning.

Goals

The Artworks integration was essential. The sculpture is the focal point of the new wing exterior entrance and the beginning of the patients experience at the hospital.

Process

I worked closely with architects and board members from the projects conception, and through to completion. I also worked with the architecture team to co-design the pavilion where the sculpture is placed, I also provided inputs into the landscape design.

Additional Information

The project was completed on time in under a year, and on-budget. Additionally the piece weighs roughly 5,000lbs. I designed a foundation for it as well.
