Client: Alta Bates Summit Medical Center

Overview

Mixed media art work, 9 x 24 ft, installed in the Alta Bates Hospital lobby in Berkeley, California. the work is a combination of photo based acrylic painting with digitally printed plexi glass cut into “wings” that project from the wall perpendicularly.

Goals

I wanted to create artwork that welcomed patients, staff and visitors into the newly designed lobby.

Process

The collaboration with art consultant and hospital staff was very smooth. Presented with architectural plans and color boards as a starting point, I developed a 3d maquette to illustrate the paintings and sculptural components for approval. Small alterations for the photos realized the work efficiently.
