Overview

I was the Lead Artist to assemble a team to pitch this Permanent Fine Art Lighting Installation on the north face of the Stamford Train Station facing I-95, the largest hub outside of Grand Central. The lighting design is a combination of RGB LED strip lighting and RGB LED wash lighting. The lights are on and moving in a program rotation every evening from dusk to 1am.

Goals

The RFQ stated that the City of Stamford had been awarded a $155,000. grant to 'beautify the existing Stamford Train Station' northern facade with a permanent, efficient fine art lighting installation.

Additional Information

This fine art lighting installation was favorably reviewed by the New York Times - http://sandygarnettstudio.com/index.php/about/articles/ny-times-3-7-13/ - which precipitated my next project, to assemble a new team to create a permanent fine art lighting installation at the Trout Museum of Art in Appleton, Wisconsin - http://sandygarnettstudio.com/index.php/public-art/ttmoa/
