St. Mercy Hospital
This work was created for a new hospital, in a very prominent location. The finished work is 14″H x 8.5'W x 4″D.
The wall was large and the budget was modest, so creating ribbons and spacing them to fill the space was the primary goal for this project. The alignment and the use of negative space was the challenge and the opportunity.
I worked with the hospital's art consultant on the layout and dimensions as palette and patterns, with our focus on the overall the impact of the art in this setting. This art consultant knew my work after seeing one of my installations in another space; she knew my work could effectively fill this space in a creative and satisfying way.
