Overview
Choir windows with an abstract design celebrating St. Mary. The both windows has respectively a star and a rose as their pictorial themes. The are executed in a cascade of blue shades, slightly differnet in tonality between the star and the rose windows. Mouthblown discs with star and rose symbols are inserted in the windows. At the top of each window; two well known prayers directed to St. Mary are placed. They appear both in Latin and in Swedish.
Goals
The goal was to further enhance the liturgical experience in this parish church. There were no stained glass windows in the church prior to these. Since Emmaboda is a municipality in the so called "Kingdom of Crystal" in Sweden, it became natural to include some pieces that were locally crafted, i.e. the discs with the star and the rose.
Process
A close dialogue was kept with the people of the parish to learn about their expectations.
