Overview

Spectra is possibly our most ambitious and high-profile project to date. This was a free reign commission from one of the world’s most iconic’s arts festivals.

Our brief was to think big, be brave and bring innovation to the art scene at Coachella. From our studio in Leeds to the hot desert sun of California we transformed the landscape of Coachella forever with the most recognisable, photographed and shared Icon in the festival’s history. So much so, that Spectra has now become a permanent fixture on the Festival landscape. Spectra is an architecturally informed installation inspired by the sunrise and sunset of the Coachella landscape. When journeying through Spectra, people are saturated in colour, offering a vivid new outlook on the world around them as they ascend to the 360˚ viewing terrace at the top of the structure. Every step on their journey through Spectra is different: different views, different colours, different emotions. As they rise through the structure it challenges them to interpret their environment through the medium of colour.

Goals

Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival has a 20 year heritage of Art and we were commissioned as artists to design and install a piece. This was a free reign commission.
