Visible by foot, bike, car and bus, street-based galleries offer a free, accessible opportunity for everyone to experience art each day. Throughout 2014, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation will partner with 4Culture to provide innovative media content at their Digital Art Display on 5th Avenue in Seattle.
My video was specifically designed for the large screen, and sound composition was specifically done for the available sound system by composer Victoria Jordanova. Idea was to create a seascape/landscape/soundscape to be enjoyed by passers by. We see the art of landscape as a tangible meeting point between nature and culture. The work, therefore, builds on landscape traditions, capturing a sense of physical and conceptual place.
Composer Victoria Jordanova and I collaborated with Heather Dwyer who manages projects for e4c, 4Culture's storefront media gallery in Seattle on this installation.
