Overview

Sky Chamber explores the use of portals in fantasy literature (such as the wardrobe in Narnia) as a trope which expresses a desire to access faraway places from the comfort of your environment. Sky Chamber is a hideout that takes visitors to a mystical space seemingly perched in the sky. The tunnel hallway elicits childlike impulses for exploration and shelter, enticing visitors to enter and discover the inner room. While catering to the fascination with distant places, Sky Chamber also connects you to your vicinity. Built as a space for rest and contemplation, the plain white interior amplifies the gradual changes of the sky, surrounding you with the light in your environment and bringing about a sense of stillness and awe.
