Overview
Godfrey & Kahn, a Wisconsin law firm with offices all over the state, moved its Milwaukee headquarters into a new space on the 18th floor of a recently completed office building downtown, just west of Lake Michigan. For a long blank wall in a conference room, the client wanted a piece that would both hold the wall and provide a moment's reflection.
Goals
To hold the wall, a boldy colorful graphic design was chosen. Its sinuouse, interweaving lines are meant to evoke both the nearly Milwaukee Art Museum, with its wing-like brise soleil, and the lake itself, with its gently rolling waves.
Process
"Sine Me Up," which is named for the sine curves that it's composed of, was created on a computer using Adobe Illustrator and Abode Photoshop. It was then printed on brushed aluminum and mounted to to wall via a wood frame on the back. The piece is 40" high and 96" wide.
