BANCAJA Foundation of Valencia

Overview

This is a sculpture to reflect on the passage of time from close observation.
It is made of welded iron nuts and painted black and rust. The measurements are: 300x200x125 cm. the exterior structure and 200x120x65 cm. the mask.
This sculpture was acquired by the BANCAJA FOUNDATION of Valencia, after being exhibited at its main headquarters during the Valencia Biennial C.V.O.
The Bancaja Foundation has one of the most important art collections and for me it is an honor that my work is part of it.

Goals

Within the collection of works of art, the foundation was interested in me, because the sculpture has a contemporary and innovative language, which dialogues with the style of the rest of the established artists in the collection.

Process

In reality, the sculpture was not created for this specific space, but once it was displayed within the temporary exhibition, the president and the rest of the directors felt that the work should be part of their collection. The work seemed really created for this location and remains that way. It dialogues wonderfully with the rest of the works of art and with spectacular architecture.

Additional Information

The sculpture is a reflection on the passage of time and the impermanence of matter. Made of iron and in a black and rust finish, it is cut out against the white tones of the building, marking the three-dimensional presence of the sculpture. a work that despite the hardness and heaviness of the material, iron, transmits lightness and fragility.
