Overview
Wave of Knowledge acts as inspirational metaphor, suggesting a beautiful educational journey and boundless exploration expressed in a bright gradient of color. It is the visual and thematic counterpart of the outdoor sculpture Open Door, Wave of Knowledge measures 14 feet high, 150 feet long and 2 inches thick.
Goals
WAVE OF KNOWLEDGE, and OPEN DOOR are crucially present at the threshold of the Richard Desich SMART Centers for Microtechnology, a state of the art facility devoted to the exploration of design, technology, and innovation.
Process
Artist Shan Shan Sheng worked with architectural consultants and structural engineers to fully integrate ARTWORK into the Richard Desich SMART Center. She first create original original oil painting, then worked side by side with Germany glassmaker Peters Studio transfer painting into to the windows of the glass bridge.
