Overview

Commission for five 42″H x 24″W x 3.5″deep panels of coated handmade paper and fused glass embedded with silver leaf to span 10 feet for a long hallway.

Process

As the artist I began making sketches for the art consultant so that we could agree on our direction. The design and color palette evolved from this sketch. We worked up a stair-step concept of layers of a textured caste paper and slick and colorful fused glass. Gatorfoam cutouts were mounted on heavy wood stretcher bars and large wood french cleats were used for easy and secure mounting.
