Overview
Consultation and series of commissions across new country park ‘Riverdown Park’ in Laverstock nr Salisbury. Inspired by the area’s rich history as a centre for Medieval tile making and the local flora and fauna of the park. I created 6x stone way marker posts and 3x large scale paving stones designed to enable rubbings of the artwork.
Goals
My artworks were designed to encourage interaction, learning and celebration of the environment. All the elements have been designed to be highly tactile, allowing those with visual impairments to discover the local flora and fauna. In addition, rubbings can be taking to allow visitors to extend their visit to the park, encourage play and creativity, and allow them to take away the artworks. I want to create encounters with art in public spaces which surprise and delight.
Process
I work with international fabricators to realise my designs and here worked with stone specialist Scribble Stone. I am the sole artist on all of my projects.
