Overview
Kinetic sculpture (2016). Stainless steel, glass and LED light. 159"H x 54"W x 27"D. Selected for inclusion in the 2017 International Kinetic Art Exhibit & Symposium. On display in Boynton Beach, Florida October 2016 through October 2017.
Goals
This exhibit showcases kinetic art. "Revelation" is a 13.25' tall stainless steel sculpture with a kinetic crown made up of wings that rotate around a frame encircling the 17" dia. red glass globe. At night an internal LED bulb illuminates the globe. As the wings silently read the wind, the globe is alternately obscured and revealed. "Revelation" represents the pursuit of enlightenment and is available for purchase.
Process
I was invited by the public arts manager to submit a proposal. In June I was notified that my proposal was accepted. I then proceeded to fabricate the sculpture from July through September 2016, documenting the process and posting progress photos and videos on Facebook and Instagram. The completed sculpture was shipped in late September and installed by an on-site crew.
