Overview
Standing more than 20’ above street level, “Relate” is a reference to the ongoing dialogue between the city of Port St. Lucie, its residents, and the community they create together. The three crescents vary in height and gesture, interacting with a sense of movement to embody the diverse and multigenerational residents and the community they have built.
Goals
Port St. Lucie issued a call to artists seeking a landmark, free standing, outdoor sculpture to serve as a focal point for motorists entering and leaving the city, and complement the residential character of the surrounding neighborhood. The roundabout is located in a residential area and the City. A major goal of the project was for the artwork to reflect multigenerational families and the City’s motto of being a hometown where people live, learn, work and play.
