Overview
Four laminated glass windscreens, 4×15-ft, commissioned by NY MTA Arts in Transit for 25th Ave. Subway Station, Brooklyn, NY. The material and sizes were dictated by MTA Arts for Transit.
Goals
There were no specific goals or directives.
Process
I visited the station's neighborhood (heavily immigrant Asians). I was tasked with locating a fabricator which involved requesting samples from four different glass art companies. I selected Depp Glass located in Long Island City, Queens because their samples contained color deeper and more intense than the others.
Additional Information
The subway station is located on the western end of the D Line, one stop before the Coney Island station.
