Overview
Remodeling & modifying an existing “production” home. The principle design concept was to create a “Classic” custom home look blending several design styles, integrating colors and textures, featuring eclectic art works.
Goals
To established in design and then create a contemporary original painting and lighting which could integrate with clients existing collection of classic French Posters and limited edition pieces, design and fabricate one-off wrought metal fixtures. Further, being able to blend seamlessly with the "Classic" style created in the interior design and yet sand alone as focus points on their own. Then create light fixtures and metal art that blended seamlessly with all the other elements of design.
Process
We had worked with the Artist numerous times before on prior projects so we had a prior relationship working closely with each other. The principle idea was to use a male image within the painting to offset the primary female subjects of the clients existing collection. The lighting we wanted to be "Organic" in nature, and curvilinear in style in juxtaposition to the chandelier having Spanish Revival design heritage but also integrating with the hand formed wrought iron decorative wall hangings.
Additional Information
While the project photographs represent the achieved overall effect, they do not speak directly to the blending of French, Mediterranean, English and American design elements which were utilized & integrated into the overall finished product.
