Overview
Commissioned by the Cambridge Arts Council for the Waverly Place extension, a bike and pedestrian path in the Cambridgeport neighborhood, near MIT
Goals
To provide a focal point and passage along path; as the path also serves as a fire access route, strict opening size needed to be preserved, creating a challenging engineering problem for the artist's signature thin circles and ovoids
Process
The artist worked closely with Lillian Hsu, Director of the Public Art Program fro the Cambridge Arts Council, finalizing site, collaboration with relevant city agencies, landscaping contractors and project engineers
