Overview

Pre-kindergarten to 8th grade school with 757 students in Brooklyn. The building plan is organized around an entry court facing south. A gymnasium is located on a cellar level with extensive clerestory windows adjacent to the entry promenade. A double-height lobby open to the entry court, with a double-height loggia looking into the upper portion of the gymnasium and the entry court. The court features three prismatic skylights for daylight to the cafeteria below, surrounded by planting and benches configured as outdoor gathering spaces, allowing classroom environments to extend to the exterior.
