Overview
2020 © Susan Gott. A three-sided obelisk of sand-cast glass panels inset in a stainless steel frame with green LED illumination. “Peace” is represented in 13 different languages, surrounded by various symbols of Florida, Peace, and of the University of South Florida, St. Petersburg community.
Goals
The theme of "Peace" was the overall message of this piece. Each symbol of the bas-relief panels represents either the word "peace" from a different language, or a visual representation of symbolic "peace".
Process
Each letter or symbol on the bas-relief panel was initially 3D printed from CAD design and then pressed sand, creating a mold; which was then cast with hot glass.
