Overview
Paths Woven is composed of over 25 gracefully curved ladders soaring throughout the lobby atrium. The work is made from laminated maple and local Claro Walnut and suspended in the Meeter/Greeter Hall of the Airport. The work measures 16x16x70 ft. and is composed of approx. 25 life-sized ladders
Goals
Paths Woven begins in the west end of the lobby with a singular ladder made from Claro Walnut. This ladder makes its way through the space above as additional maple ladders appear and weave together along the path to culminate in a dynamic cloud of line and form. As a whole, the work embraces a sense of wonder and welcome in a beautiful natural form. It identifies San Diego as a place of strong community and personal identity - in a synergistic relationship, and on equal footing
