Overview

“Pastime!” is thirty-eight-foot-long artwork made for a baseball park in Sacramento, conceived and fabricated specifically for the ball park.

Goals

Made of nearly a thousand baseball bats, this soaring work allows players to pass underneath, going to and from the baseball fields. It is a landmark gateway comprised of hundreds upon hundreds of shining baseball bats arranged into a joyous archway - a grand artwork welcoming the community to the park.

Process

We worked with the parks department to integrate with the existing design, contrasting and complementing the existing playground, farmer's market canopy and ball field structures.

Additional Information

Made of aluminum, stainless steel, and concrete in December 2016, landscaping will be completed around the work in 2017.
