Overview
Passage is a fabricated bronze sculpture that seems to float weightlessly up through a stairwell and into a two story atrium of a modern home. Upon further interaction, it becomes clear that the sculpture spans three stories, including the basement. The sculpture serves as a focal point that compliments the organic architecture of the unique space.
Goals
Michael Szabo Studio worked with the architect Leonardo Umansky of Arxis Design Studio to integrate the sculpture into the stunning architecture of the space. The result is a piece inspired by its setting, engaging in a dialogue with the space and activating each level of the atrium with a sense of dynamic motion.
