Overview
Paraluna is a giant, spinning disc of LEDs. Classical music plays from speakers on the ground while animated patterns dance on the disc above. The disc is held up by a boom lift, allowing the disc to be raised, lowered, and tilted, to dramatic effect.
Goals
I originally created this piece for Burning Man in 2018, but it's been displayed at many events since then. Installation art is arguably the most important part of Burning Man, and is becoming more and more so at other events.
Process
I designed the piece entirely on my own, but have a thriving community of friends and strangers who love being involved with large-scale art.
