Overview
In a wine and cava region in Barcelona, Spain, Sant Llorenç D´Hortons is located this sculpture called Pampol.
The piece servers as a landmark in the main entry to the town, it was created to mark the wine landscape due to you can see the valley through the sculpture. The sculpture is a half leaf grape The sun against the piece allows complete the whole drawing with its shadows. It is a meeting point in the city. Features: steel cutting by plasma, 7,5 meters high and 12 tons.
Goals
The main aim was to create a powerful milestone talking about the cave, wine and the local culture. The relationship among sculpture, culture, the landscape was the principal goal, as well as become the existing walkway into a plaza.
Process
it was a close collaboration between the artist, Juanjo Novella and local authorities. In that time the Municipality was creating the park and asked to the artist collaboration in a coherent way.
