Overview
Triptych of hand-blown glass rondel compositions on 7′ H x 2′ W stainless steel panels in the main stairway area along with a 6′ W x 3′ H panel in the main lobby of a new urgent care clinic and medical office building on the Westside of Santa Cruz, CA.
Goals
To beautify the main lobby & main stairway spaces by adding color and visual interest. Additionally with the stairway artwork, it was to pull visitors eyes away from and distract from noticing the earthquake brace that was made mandatory in the construction of the clinic.
Process
The artist worked closely with the project manager at PAMF as well as the architect and construction from design through fabrication and installation.
