Overview

A major work for Downtown at the Gardens West Palm Beach Florida. The brief was to design a water feature for a new development to introduce a different architectural element to the contemporary modern design of the buildings, The water circulates and falls over the dome on the sculpture. The sculpture is 15ft x 15ft x 15ft set in a basin of 30 x 30 x 30

Goals

From the outset of the project the goal was to commission 2 works from me to be site specific and to bring the flow of water into the place as a cooling place to sit. The places for the artwork were predetermined by the architects to be integrated into the design as the necessary puimping stations had to be installed during the build. The decision to design sculpture influenced by different architectures was taken in consultation with the developer and the architects

Process

The collaboration was extensive neccesitateing working with , architects , planners , water systems companies , construction engineers, builders electricians and myself. This was a big project since the water systems were complex. The process was between the artist and the architect in the first instance and after between the artist builder and water systems company.Delivery and installation was undertaken by the artist and his team with the help of the construction team.
