Overview
An 8 ft. elaborately carved bear welcomes patrons into a new restaurant near Miami, FL. This group commissioned this sculpture to be a replica to their bronze sculpture that greets customers at their restaurant in London, England. It is created from weatherproof materials – carved in 3 lb. density EPS foam and then sealed with a thick coat of epoxy. The entire surface of epoxy was then relief carved into a symmetrical scrollwork design.
Goals
The goal was to enhance the branding of the business while giving an interactive photo op for patrons and tourists.
Process
The client and I went back and forth discussing the concept and then finalizing the drawings that the sculpture was based on. During the sculpting process, pictures were shared and feedback given to make sure we were all on the same page, all the way to completion. The clients were thrilled with the end result.
