Overview

A message of hope was what I wanted to convey with this piece. When Andrea at Arch design approached me about the possibility of this commission she was interested in one of my watery seascape pieces but wanted it to have a focal point. And thinking about the struggle and stress of the hospital experience I knew that hope was what people needed. The rising sun and the promise of a new day are are indicated by the subtle addition of white tinted lacquer. It tells a story without losing its simplicity.

Goals

Working together with the designer we arrived at the dimensions for these three panels. Based on my past work the theme of water was suggested. This coordinated well with the rest of the space.
