Overview

Glass, fiberglass, mirror, LEDs, plaster, steel, PVC. With US compatible power supply.
10 sculptures of 30in (H) x 18in (W) x 18in (D) each. 1 sculpture of 48in (H) x 30in (W) x 30in (D) each.

Described by arts writer, Jasmyne Keimig, as a ‘fun meditation on what it’s like to be an outsider’ (The Stranger, Seattle), and by David McLean as one of ‘the best artwork[s] from Burning Man 2018’ (The Independent UK), Odd Jelly Out is a large-scale sculpture installation by uckiood. Drawing inspiration from Jelly Babies, the iconic British candy, Odd Jelly Out was originally conceived to champion the outsider and encourage a broader conversation about diversity, loneliness and marginalization. These illuminated glass and mirrored characters have been featured in news and lifestyle publications such as The Independent (UK), Vogue Netherlands, designboom, Creapills France, Athens Voice, The Stranger, Shanghai Daily and My Modern Met.

Goals

Odd Jelly Out is a modular project which could be adapted to the client's needs and space. Forms can be replicated and created in custom colors and sizes to suit the client's space and the desired experience for the viewer. This is also an interactive project - the installation and placement can be changed periodically to effect a new narrative and dynamic between figures.
