Overview

New London Light Cube installed on glass exterior of Water Street Parking Garage, New London, CT, 2014. Installation dimensions 38 feet tall x 36 feet wide x 14 feet deep. RGB LED lights mounted in channels and affixed to aluminum window frames. In addition, aluminum gutters fabricated to hide the cables to each fixture, seamlessly integrated into window framing.

Goals

Integration of this permanent fine art lighting installation into existing architecture is paramount. A lot of design goes into making a quiet installation which is barely noticeable during daylight hours.

Process

I was the artist, designer, producer, contractor. I worked with key associates on various items to plan and problem solve, as I did with the Trout Museum of Art, sub-contractors of Sandy Garnett Studio.
