Overview
The hospital requested a sculpture reminiscent of a Myrtle Tree. The myrtle tree is beloved and indigenous to the area. Not only would the sculpture convey a sense of community, but also the message of renewal and hope with its floral theme. The piece is made of blown and fused glass and measures 23’x50′.
Goals
The goal was to create something inspiring and hopeful. The size and placement of the sculpture requires the viewer to look up, adding to its' message.
Process
Several drawings and samples were created for the consultant and client, until a final design was agreed on.
