Overview
Moving art is a moving art piece. Shirley Wintsch painted a Smart Car for the summer colors art show in the Circulo de Bellas Artes in Tenerife, Spain. Moving art represents art in movement inside a cultural center this piece later will be used as transport and a kinetic canvas within its environment. The Canary Islands need contemporary art awakening its residents and tourists. Shirley Wintsch will suggest art exists by change by beautifying the environment.
Goals
Moving Art was designed, hand painted and finished by the artist Shirley WIntsch aka Whirleytimes. Shirley Wintsch submitted 3 proposals of Moving Art to the cultural city center. Dulce Xerach summited one of the proposals to Smart Cars. Smart Cars donated a car and the Circulo de Bellas Artes donated the exhibition space and some of the materials' cost. Shirley Wintsch was invited to the Smart Car dealer to paint a moving art piece. The project took about a week to complete including delivery time to the Circulo de Bellas Artes. The goals for the project were achieved being adding a moving piece of art to the city transportation system. Therefore to enlighten with contemporary art the Canary Islands.
Process
The artwork Moving Art was realized by Whirleytimes, Shirley Wintsch. The artist looking for spaces to paint, even further vehicles, collaborated with the city contemporary art cultural center's president, Dulce Xerach and Smart Cars to create Moving Art.
Additional Information
The motive chosen for moving art was abstract geometry. The abstract geometric lines on the artwork represent kinetic energy and a modern society. The colors chosen are bright full of energy just like its current environment, sunny Canary Islands. Moving Art is a moving art of piece with a transportation use and enlightening purpose.
