Overview
From Cardboard to bronze- I have explored the human figure. Organic and natural-light plays through the latticed sculptures, shifting between internal and external space. Linear fluidity and bundled energy evoke movement and feeling. My sculptures combine structure, narrative, and
place-making relevance. The participating viewer has space for interpretation and sees how the evidence of process and craftsmanship remain a part of the expression of the work. The random parts come together to make a whole, metaphorically reflecting human connection to community.
Additional Information
Ultimately Art fulfills an educational and social need. Our lives comprise a theater of common experience, in which art expands our sense of shared purpose. By emphasizing movement and beauty in an ever-changing urban world, art can reinforce the human nature of place, community growth, and individuality.
