Overview

This 36 foot tall stainless steel and bronze kinetic sculpture was a collaboration project with West Cancer Clinic and BRG3S Architects. “Miraculous Murmuration” is both monumental and meditative, it represents hope in difficult times, and it is metaphor for the community of West Cancer Clinic and the journey that each patient embraces.

Goals

I worked closely with the Design Team for West Cancer Clinic and the architects of BRG3S, and together we created a work of art that is an inspiration and comfort to all. The art work integrates the architecture and the mission of West Cancer Clinic.

Process

I was first invited to meet with the architects to contribute a heart felt piece of art that would speak to the space, the patients and visitors. The architects embraced my concept and was commissioned to manage all aspects of the project, including contracting electricians, an engineering firm, and working closely with the subcontractors of the renovation at West Clinic. We were on a very tight schedule and everyone worked great together.

Additional Information

Murmuration refers to the phenomenon that results when hundreds, sometimes thousands, of birds fly in swooping, intricately coordinated patterns through the sky.
