Client: Miracle Park

Overview

Miracle Park is an inclusive park, designed for people of all abilities. We created a sensory area, including a tactile wall with a community mosaic and kinetic elements, a large steel sculpture of the Miracle Park logo – to be used as a backdrop for team photos, a donor wall, and a sensory pathway. This park holds a Universal Design certification, and we had to consider those requirements in order to make this area accessible for individuals with a variety of ability and mobility levels.

Goals

The goals were to create an interactive area that would stimulate all the senses, and allow people of different abilities to come together and play.

Process

We worked with several community organizations to determine the needs of the individuals who would use Miracle Park. We worked with one particular organization that provides services for adults with special needs, and these folks came out to help us install the community mosaic on the tactile wall.
