Overview

Museum Garage brought together five innovative and globally inspired architects and designers to showcase their work featured on a seven-story mixed-used structure located in the Miami Design District. The colorful facades and custom lighting perfectly complement the developing neighborhood. The Museum Garage can house up to 800 vehicles and welcomes more retailers and restaurants to the District. Zahner provided the engineering, fabrication and installation of the metal façades.

Goals

To transform a seven-story mixed-used structure located in the Miami Design District.

Process

Each facade began with the Zahner Design Assist solution, a methodology of working collaboratively with design teams to bring each unique vision to reality. The Zahner Design Assist process involves deep critical thinking of all project aspects, assuring constructability, safety, and aesthetic requirements are met. This step is crucial in discovering and solving issues that could arise in the shop and field, reducing the number of change orders and remaining within a project's budgetary parameters.

Additional Information

Terrence Rily of K/R, curated the project's unique aesthetics recruiting designers from WORKac, J.Mayer.H., Clavel Arquitectos, Nicolas Buffe, and K/R (Keenen/Riley). The designers approached their part of the structure with a wholly unique vision, custom engineered and fabricated by Zahner.
