Client: Celebrity Cruise Line - Luminae

Overview

The commission totaled nine large-scale sculptures for installation in nine separate restaurants aboard a fleet of Millennium and Solstice cruise ships for Celebrity Cruises.

Goals

The overriding goal was to design and compliment the dining space with organic and feminine shapes. The illuminating aesthetic differs from piece to piece allowing each work to stand alone, unique from the entire series.

Process

The artist was given a color palette to follow along with reference images depicting the various shapes and textures found within the space. With only those restrictions, Bennett was given freedom to design and construct a sculptural piece for each location.
