Overview
Mastro’s Steakhouse is two floors at 18,000 sf . As the Project Designer I spent over one year designing the exterior architectural changes and interior changes. Directly across from the Segerstrom Center for the Arts . Also directly behind is the Noguchi California Scenario Garden.
Goals
As the project designer it was my job to find and purchase 37 works of Art . While doing this task my clients requested that I myself as an artist create some of the Art . Out of the 37 total I did 12 in various locations thru-out the two floors. The goal was to place the Art of different colors and themes in the right rooms, I also designed the lighting and installed all the Art .
Process
Well the collaboration was with myself which is more challenging than you can imagine .It is a restaurant and an environment which needs to be sophisticated and the entertaining at the same time. Some art needed to support the theme of Music , Wine or just be intense in a low light setting.
Additional Information
As an Interior Designer and Artist I worked with this group ten years. I completed five Steakhouse restaurants and also designed there Logo .The locations are Scottsdale Az. , Beverly Hills , CA , Costa Mesa and Thousand Oaks , Ca. The Clients sold their company of seven restaurants for $190,000,000.000 in 2008 .
