Overview

Mashable House SXSW 2018

For many attendees, SXSW means “go-go-go”; so at 2018’s Mashable House, we offered guests some respite from the chaos and made sure we shared all the good vibes. From the entrance, throughout the House, to the exit portal, guests enjoined the nostalgic-fueled playground paired with futuristic elements and modern furnishings.

Art Seen Alliance unveiled a 14’x14′ entry display, a futuristic exit tunnel filled with LED light bars, and a 40′ pentagon shaped archway designed and fabricated as an immersive lighting experience for guests of the festival.

Materials included: Aluminium, steel, acrylic, wood, and pixel mapped LED lights.

Goals

This premiere event called for an unforgettable and photo ready experience. These structures were built and pixel mapped with the intention of leaving a lasting impression on the public, while staying true to the representation of their brand.

Process

When Art Seen Alliance received a call from Austin based company PADRE about SXSW's Mashable House experience, they jumped into action! From submitting renderings for approval, collaborating on design execution, creating cut files and pixel mapping LED rods, fabricating, installing, and partaking in event production throughout the event, the activation was truly unforgettable.
