Overview

The Marmara Park Avenue, a 128-key artisanal boutique hotel in the heart of Manhattan, is one of the latest projects by Joe Ginsberg Design. Renowned for his contemporary paintings and multimedia work, designer Joe Ginsberg seamlessly blended nature with the pulse of New York, combining grandeur with modern sensibility to create a cosmopolitan artisanal oasis for The Marmara brand. The scope of work on this project entailed Interior and exterior design, proprietary custom artisanal applications and fabrications, art creation, from sculpture, art walls, water features, artistic hand-blown lighting features, paintings and photography to budget projections, construction documentation and project management.

Goals

The Goal was to create spaces that are Art installation by itself. Not just the paintings on the wall but also the surrounding environments. The custom details by Joe Ginsberg within the design of The Marmara Park Avenue weave an intriguing tale of art and artistry, from the intricate facets of the bronze entry door to a prudently perched diminutive owl. A jewel box entrance conservatory with faceted glass panels and a blackened steel frame invites the outdoors into the lobby, providing a haven for an elegant hand carved bird abacus.
A monolithic pair of starlit sculptural concierge desks greet you while Gem-toned accents and rich textures add a tactile contrast against a neutral palette. Two over scale fireplaces emit a theatrical glow; one understated and reserved in seamless limestone, while the other boldly takes center stage in a sculpted, mirrored, stainless steel form.
Soaring custom wooden ceiling panels in the library and a tranquil water feature beckon guests to relax and linger. A concrete and brass inlaid king and queen pattern composes the floor to complement this metropolitan artisanal utopia that is in itself a true art piece.

Process

At the core of Joe Ginsberg Design firm is an interdisciplinary team composed of interior designers, architects, artisans , fabricators and project managers who strive for excellence in art, artistry and design, the highest client satisfaction, honesty in project decisions, budget allocation from concept to installation, each phase of the design and artistic process is masterfully completed under the direction of Joe Ginsberg.
