Overview
Two Life Size Portrait Sculptures of Joker Marchant and George Jenkins. Traditional Clay Sculpting on armatures from photos of both Men that were given to me from the families. The figures were cast in Bronze with Hot Chemical Patina and Sealant.
Goals
The goal was to show the friendship between the two men in front of the Minor League Baseball Stadium in Lakeland Florida. The design was showing them shaking hands in front of the newly built stadium named after Joker Marchant. They were portrait figures that were to show the likeness of both men.
Process
As the artist I worked with the families to make sure that I sculpted the best likeness of the figures and also worked with the City of Lakeland on the installation site at the baseball stadium. After I had the sculpting completed ART Research, the foundry, produced the molds and bronze casting along with applying the Hot Chemical Patina and Sealant. Shirk Trucking was hired to deliver the sculptures and ART Design were on hand to project manage the installation.
