Oil, Varnish, Pigments and Graphite on Drywall, 10 feet × 32 feet
The wall painting Magenta to Green relates to the architecture of a curved wall and with that to the movement and circulation in the building. Layers of rolled on red, yellow and blue varnish build a site-specific color-space compostion in tension with black and grey line work. The painting, with its abstracted features of landscape, located at the lobby of a chemistry lab, relates to their sustainable line of products cleaning heavy metals out water.
Goals
The goal for the project was to develop a welcoming art piece in the lobby to represent the company's mission and resolve way finding issues.
Process
Collaboration on preliminary design sketches regarding layout and color scheme with the client.
