Overview
Luminous Bound is composed of a cluster of streetlights in keeping with the familiar public light features, but intricately bringing the lights to life. It is located and creates a visual anchor to the Montana RTS Far East Transfer Station that is part of El Paso’s Sun Metro public transportation system. Rising from a single foundation, the light poles gradually diverge and intertwine – abandoning a static vertical posture to join together into a simple overhand knot and then continue on their path forward.
Goals
Luminous Bound illuminates, but also suggests that the ordinary can become extraordinary, and in fact that the ordinary itself is extraordinary. Luminous Bound illuminates the transfer station for visitors and its surrounding community.
