The City of Grand Prairie, TX approached Tim Prentice to design a suspended kinetic work in the lobby of the Summit Adult Activity Center. The work consists of 5 flexible “Banners” ranging in size from 5 to 7 feet in length.
the 5 triangular “sails” of linked aluminum plates undulate and rotate with the slightest currents of air in the atrium space. Highly polished curved plates cause multifaceted reflections as they move.
The artwork was designed to activate the space and reveal the movement of air within it.
