Client: Comton Verney Gallery

Overview

Creatmosphere created this installation to give the audience an alternative experience of the house and grounds at Compton Verney. Interactive stations allow the audience to colour paint the landscape including major trees and the different side of the mansion and chapel planted by ‘Capability’ Brown.

Goals

This light project transformed the entire site in a new lit enviroenment at night which was nonexistant before the project. It also gave a new infrastructure to be able to technically deliver it including power and controls wireless and new solar technology.

Process

First we had long discussions with curator on how to approach this project. Then presentations to the executive board of the gallery and engagement with the education team to deliver an outreach school participative element of the installation. Then discussions with landscape and grounds team to integrate technically the project to the site. The Creatmosphere team delivered the designs, programmed the lights, designed the infrastructure, and came up with the interactive designs that would work for the audience to enjoy playing with.

Additional Information

Creatmosphere aimed at using the least amount of power as possible and even generated some of it by using 1000 solars lights to create a mapping display of trees and water on the site. The audience controls were made using the latest in wireless technology.
