Overview
This project was commissioned by the original owner of High Steel Company. The sculpture is a replica of the original Antique REO Speed Wagon Welding Truck of High Steel. The truck is one-quarter life size cast bronze
Goals
The goals for integrating commissioned artwork was to traditional sculpt in clay from a photo of the original truck to be installed in Center City Lancaster at the original spot of the first High Steel building.
Process
Becky Ault, artist, traditionally sculpted out of clay the 1.4 life size truck from photographs of the original truck. She then collaborated with the owner of High Steel on the design and ART Research Enterprises completed the process of casting in bronze, applying a traditional brown patina and installing the sculpture in Lancaster PA.
