Overview
This rock sculpture by local artist Carl Peverall was the focal point of the lobby. The Tennessee Sandstone rock was sourced by the artist from a local North Carolina quarry. It was important to the designer and the owners of the hotel that the sculpture reflect the local earth. It is 74” h x 64” w x 48” d and weighs 2.5 tons.
Goals
The inspiration for all of the artwork at the Hotel was the history and origin of the Eastern Band of Cherokees. The Cherokee origin story, entitled "How the World was Made" is featured throughout the space.
