The client's residence is a light-flooded loft space, a perfect showcase for Susan Freda's ephemeral glass and wire sculptures. Susan's glass sculpture is hung like a tapestry, suspended from an aluminum bar about 18 inches from the wall to allow for stunning shadows. “Fila Aspro”, Susan's dress sculpture made from woven wire, was installed in the space overlooking the loft, making it highly visible throughout the house.
The client contacted Susan Freda about creating a sculptural piece that would uplift and brighten her bedroom. Susan Freda worked closely with her to alter an existing piece such that it suited the client's space and desires. Susan installed the piece in the client's home alongside one of her woven wire dress sculptures.
"Fila Aspro" dress sculpture measures 40" x 20" x 12", and the hanging glass sculpture is 30" x 42".
